I recently worked with the National Farmers Union and their Compliance Team on revamping their entire approach to privacy policy content for their members. This included a review and overhaul of their documentation, UX, user journeys, and how they communicate their impact in an easily accessible way.

We began by building a member profile and style that had to appeal to over 44,000 farming and growing businesses.

I then suggested a guided user journey that simplifies and replaces a very dense and detailed document. This consisted of the following:

• Overview animation

• New, simplified website copy with illustrations

• Simplified and updated privacy policy PDF with guided and clickable/ linkable contents page

This funnelled approach was designed to build upon members' understanding from a simplified overview before they reached the more detailed documentation, ensuring that they would understand how their data is being managed without being overwhelmed with legal jargon. The project was extremely successful and has now been implemented across their website.
